Dutch artist, trained at ArtEZ (University of the Arts, Arnhem). She graduated in 1993 in 3D Design.
What characterises the work is that every object is unique and that a series is made of it. Techniques such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, crochet and plaiting are used, mostly with discarded materials. Upcycling is very important: material such as acrylic or jute, which is not costly in itself, is turned into a high-quality object.
The time contained in an object matters. Attention. You can see the time. You know a great deal of time has gone into it.
