David de Lange graduated from the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam. He has developed as both an entrepreneur and an artist in photography.
De Lange is above all a photographer of people; he loves watching people and capturing who they are and what they do.
Now and then he sets out to work on a different subject, night photography for example.
At the end of January 2019 he decided to make a self-portrait every day for 1000 days. It was an intensive undertaking with which he wanted to push himself to keep practising and to put his creativity to work. In 2022 he received a grant from the Stichting Kunst en Cultuurbevordering Nederland to publish a book of the series. A selection from those thousand days appears in the book, arranged according to the various strands that emerged during the process.
He exhibits regularly in collaboration with various organisations, galleries and museums. What he mainly does with his work is let others look into his personal world of experience.
